Graeme Sharp - Loss Prevention & Profit Protection Consultant
Loss Prevention & Profit Protection Consultant
Graeme Sharp has lived and breathed retail for over 30 years, starting out in store management with the Co-op before moving into the world of Loss Prevention and Profit Protection. Since then, he’s worked with some of the world’s most recognisable brands, from high-end luxury labels to household names, designing strategies that safeguard assets, reduce shrink, and protect reputations.
Career highlights? Plenty. He’s steered businesses through the Kate Moss Topshop launch, prepared retailers for the London 2012 and Paris 2024 Olympics, and delivered six-figure shrink reductions time and again. But for Graeme, LP isn’t about guards, cameras, and tags, it’s about people, culture and leadership. He believes profit protection is most powerful when it’s part of the fabric of a business, not a bolt-on policing function.
Areas of Expertise:
- Identifying causes of loss and inefficiency
- LP strategy and culture development
- Stocktake analysis and action planning
- Investigation of complex employee & supplier fraud
- Security contract management & tendering
- Physical security specification
- Auditing, risk assessment & cash management
- Building, coaching & mentoring teams
Graeme, Outside the Office
What’s the first thing you do to unwind after a long day of consulting?
If it’s summer, you’ll find me on the beach or in the garden with a cold beer. Winter? Light the woodburner, cook up something hearty, and enjoy family time. Basically: sunshine or log fire, but always with good company.
What’s your favourite place to shop, either online or in person?
Antique shops — the quirkier the better. I can lose hours hunting for eclectic treasures to fill that one “just right” empty corner at home.
Coffee or tea to fuel your workday? And what’s your go-to order?
Coffee. Strong. Freshly ground. Dash of milk, two sugars. Nothing fancy, just rocket fuel in a mug.
If you had to swap careers with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
Sir David Attenborough. To be 99, still globe-trotting, still inspired by nature, still inspiring the rest of us… that’s the dream.
When you’re not working with clients, what’s your favourite hobby or way to relax?
Cooking — the more improvised, the better. No recipe books, just fresh market finds, a decent pan, and a glass of “chef’s juice” (red, naturally).
What’s the one WFH item in your office you couldn’t live without?
A proper pen and pad. I’m old school like that — sometimes scribbles spark the best ideas. Oh, and fairy lights. Lots of fairy lights. Christmas is nearly all year round in my world.
Graeme brings the perfect blend of sharp commercial focus, cultural sensitivity, and human touch. He’s not just about protecting assets, he’s about building stronger, safer, and more profitable businesses.
