Frances Brown – Social Media & Pinterest Consultant
Helping retail businesses cut through the noise, create purposeful content and turn Pinterest into a powerhouse for sales.
Frances Brown is a social media and Pinterest strategist with a down-to-earth, data-meets-creativity approach that helps independent retailers and ecommerce brands attract loyal customers without burning out on content creation.
With over 25 years’ experience across telecoms, IT, coaching, L&D and digital marketing, Fran brings a calm confidence to every project. Her sweet spot? Showing retail business owners how to make organic content work harder, especially on platforms that reward planning, not panic-posting.
A passionate advocate for Pinterest as an untapped goldmine of evergreen traffic, Fran teaches brands how to create scroll-stopping pins that appear in Google, drive consistent traffic, and fuel digital product sales and eCommerce growth. She first discovered Pinterest marketing while launching her own digital product side hustle in lockdown. What began as curiosity turned into a full career change. From student, to social media manager, to the proud owner of The Social Giraffe.
“Pinterest isn’t just a mood board. It’s a search engine in disguise and if you know how to use it, it can quietly drive thousands of visits to your shop every month.”

Words That Work as Hard as You Do
Fran is especially passionate about helping small business owners feel less overwhelmed and more in control of their marketing. Whether it’s building a Pinterest strategy that keeps delivering, or creating a realistic Instagram plan that doesn’t involve dancing on camera, her approach is always practical, honest, and 100% tailored to real life.
“My clients aren’t marketers; they’re makers, shopkeepers, founders. I help them get seen without shouting.”
Q&A with Fran;
You don’t need to be on every platform – pick a couple that your ideal audience will use – not what is popular or trending. A mix of Instagram and Pinterest is great, one for evergreen content and one for real time.
Putting marketing to the bottom of the priority list, putting together posts without a purpose just to get something out there. They often miss the strategy needed to raise their brand awareness on social media. Focusing on only the product but missing the stage to grab the customers attention and nurture them.
I love Diary of a CEO and High Performance podcasts. For a bit of celebrity gossip and distraction – Saving Grace and Call her Daddy.
Despite my broad Scottish accent, I haven’t actually lived in Scotland for 23 years.
